We already act for YouTubers — yours won’t be our first channel

YouTube income doesn’t behave like normal business income. AdSense pays monthly in dollars and moves with the algorithm. Sponsors pay on invoice terms. Memberships, Super Thanks, affiliate links and merch each land differently. US tax forms turn up mid-year. Most accountants see this once; we see it every week.

We work with YouTubers and streamers across the size spectrum — from creators just past the monetisation threshold to channels that are a full-time business with editors on the payroll. Part of the wider creator & influencer side of our practice.

    Questions

    YouTuber accounting FAQs

When should a YouTuber set up a limited company?
Usually once your channel income is consistent and meaningful — a limited company can be more tax-efficient and looks more professional to sponsors. We act exclusively for limited companies and their directors — so if a company is not right for your numbers yet, we will tell you honestly rather than sign you up. When it is, we form yours for you (you pay only the £100 Companies House fee).
How is AdSense and YouTube income taxed in the UK?
Your channel income — AdSense, memberships, Super Thanks — is taxable business income, and payouts often arrive in dollars with US tax forms to complete along the way. We account for it correctly, handle the currency side, and guide you through the platform paperwork.
What can YouTubers claim as expenses?
Cameras, lenses, lighting, microphones, editing hardware and software, a proportion of home studio costs, props and materials genuinely used for content — claimed where the rules allow. Gifted products and brand trips have their own tax treatment; we’ll keep you on the right side of it.
Do you work with streamers too?
Yes — Twitch and YouTube streamers with subs, bits, donations and sponsorship income. The accounting shape is the same family: multi-platform income, foreign currency payouts and equipment-heavy expenses. We handle it every day — see our dedicated accountants for streamers page.
Can you help me switch from my current accountant?
Yes, and it’s free. Give us your current accountant’s details and we’ll contact them to initiate the transfer and handle it for you.
    What does it cost?
Our monthly service starts from £159+VAT on a 30-day rolling basis — the exact fee depends on the complexity of your income and is agreed up front before you join. Some specialist or one-off work may sit outside the monthly fee — we’ll always be clear on any extra costs up front. See full pricing →
