We understand how locum pharmacists get paid

Community pharmacy cover, hospital shifts, agency bookings, direct arrangements with independents — most locum pharmacists juggle several of these at once, often at different rates. Add GPhC registration, indemnity and CPD costs and it’s easy for things to slip through the cracks.

We act for pharmacists alongside the doctors, nurses and dentists on our locum & medical side. We’ll tell you straight whether a company fits your earnings, keep every site’s payments reconciled, and make sure your professional costs are claimed correctly.

    Locum pharmacist accounting FAQs

Should I work through a limited company as a locum pharmacist?
It depends on your day rates, how much you locum, and how the pharmacies and agencies you work with engage locums. At consistent locum rates a limited company is often the efficient way to work — and limited companies are all we do. We will assess your actual numbers and tell you straight whether a company fits; when it does, we form it for you (you pay only the £100 Companies House fee).
Which expenses can locum pharmacists claim?
Typically GPhC registration, indemnity insurance, relevant training and CPD, professional subscriptions, equipment, and travel between sites where the rules allow. We’ll make sure legitimate costs are claimed and evidenced properly.
I work through an agency and directly with pharmacies — is that a problem?
Not at all. Mixed agency and direct bookings across multiple sites are normal in locum pharmacy. We’ll keep each income stream reconciled and reported correctly.
Can you help me switch from my current accountant?
Yes, and it’s free. Give us your current accountant’s details and we’ll contact them to initiate the transfer and handle it for you.
    What does it cost?
Our core limited company service is £159+VAT per month on a 30-day rolling basis. Some specialist or one-off work may sit outside the monthly fee — we will always be clear on any extra costs up front. See full pricing →
