We understand how dental locums get paid

Whether you’re covering surgeries as a locum, working associate sessions across several practices, or mixing NHS and private dentistry, your income rarely arrives in one tidy stream. Working through your own limited company can make a real difference at dental day rates — and limited company accounting is exactly what we specialise in.

We act for dentists alongside the doctors, nurses and pharmacists on our locum & medical side. We’ll tell you straight whether a company fits your numbers, keep every practice’s payments reconciled, and make sure the costs of practising — GDC, indemnity, CPD — are claimed correctly.

    Locum dentist accounting FAQs

Should I work through a limited company as a locum dentist?
It depends on your rates, your mix of NHS and private work, and how the practices you work with engage locums. At dental locum rates a limited company is often the efficient way to work — and limited companies are all we do. We will look at your numbers and tell you straight whether a company fits; when it does, we form it for you (you pay only the £100 Companies House fee).
Which expenses can locum dentists claim?
Typically GDC registration, professional indemnity, courses and CPD required for your work, travel between practices where the rules allow, equipment and professional subscriptions. We’ll make sure everything legitimate is claimed and evidenced.
I mix associate work and ad hoc locum days — can you handle that?
Yes. Mixed engagements across several practices, NHS and private, are exactly what we deal with. We will keep the income streams clean and reported correctly through your limited company.
Can you help me switch from my current accountant?
Yes, and it’s free. Give us your current accountant’s details and we’ll contact them to initiate the transfer and handle it for you.
    What does it cost?
Our core limited company service is £159+VAT per month on a 30-day rolling basis. Some specialist or one-off work may sit outside the monthly fee — we will always be clear on any extra costs up front. See full pricing →
