Common questions about IR35
What does ‘inside IR35’ mean?
Being caught inside IR35 means you are considered an employee of your end client for tax purposes — often referred to as a ‘disguised employee’. If a contract is inside IR35, employment taxes (income tax and National Insurance) are due on that income.
What if I’m outside IR35?
Nothing to worry about — being outside IR35 means your company is a legitimate business operating outside the intermediaries legislation. You are not considered an employee of your clients and can continue trading through your company as usual.
