Common Questions about IR35
What does 'inside IR35' mean?
When you're caught inside IR35, it means that you are considered an employee of your end client, often referred to as a 'disguised employee'. If you're inside IR35, HMRC will ask that you pay any necessary employment tax on your company's income (backdated tax and national insurance).
What if I'm 'outside of IR35'?
This is nothing to worry about! Being outside of IR35 simply means your company is a legitimate businesses operating outside of the intermediaries legislation. You are not considered an employee of your clients and can continue trading with your company as usual.
